The flagship store of Debenhams on Oxford street has recently had a mini makeover. The revamp involved the lingerie department being moved to the brand new lower ground floor and it looks gorgeous.
A few weeks ago I was invited to the store for an afternoon tea and a look at the new department. The floor with the lingerie on is heaven for girls! It has shoes, bags, lingerie and a bistro to leave your loved ones in whilst you shop!
Here is a run down of the brands that are stocked in the lingerie department:
After being given a tour of the department and brands, I was offered the chance to select a piece to review. Having seen this babydoll earlier on in the tour, I just had to give it a go! It is available up to an H cup and it’s lightly padded. I went for my standard size of a 36H in this.
As you can see it’s a fitted babydoll, which makes a change from all the other babydolls I have tried. It comes with suspender hooks and matching briefs – although in these photos I chose to pair it with these Maidenform knickers. The detachable suspender clips were not the best if I am honest, and I found it very hard to attach the stockings to them without them slipping out when I walked. I would probably add my own from an old corset in the future.
The moulded cups on the babydoll are fairly rigid, meaning that whilst they fit me, I didn’t quite fill them properly. It’s not something that was overly noticeable, and the cups were still a good fit, however, when you look closely it can be seen. The backband fit well, and I could probably have sized down if there had been a 34HH to try. The straps are half adjustable and the band has two hooks and eyes.
The design and look of the babydoll is really pretty and elegant. It’s nice to have something fitted, as whilst I do love my other babydolls, it’s nice to have the option of something sleeker.
The stockings worn in the post are from ‘The Big Tights Company’ and my review and link to buy can be found here.
What do you think of this Debenhams babydoll? And what do you think of the range of brands they stock?
