A Review Of The Debenhams ‘Gorgeous’ Babydoll

$

The flagship store of Debenhams on Oxford street has recently had a mini makeover. The revamp involved the lingerie department being moved to the brand new lower ground floor and it looks gorgeous.
A few weeks ago I was invited to the store for an afternoon tea and a look at the new department. The floor with the lingerie on is heaven for girls! It has shoes, bags, lingerie and a bistro to leave your loved ones in whilst you shop!
Here is a run down of the brands that are stocked in the lingerie department:

After being given a tour of the department and brands, I was offered the chance to select a piece to review. Having seen this babydoll earlier on in the tour, I just had to give it a go! It is available up to an H cup and it’s lightly padded. I went for my standard size of a 36H in this.

babydoll1

As you can see it’s a fitted babydoll, which makes a change from all the other babydolls I have tried. It comes with suspender hooks and matching briefs – although in these photos I chose to pair it with these Maidenform knickers. The detachable suspender clips were not the best if I am honest, and I found it very hard to attach the stockings to them without them slipping out when I walked. I would probably add my own from an old corset in the future.

babydoll2

The moulded cups on the babydoll are fairly rigid, meaning that whilst they fit me, I didn’t quite fill them properly. It’s not something that was overly noticeable, and the cups were still a good fit, however, when you look closely it can be seen. The backband fit well, and I could probably have sized down if there had been a 34HH to try. The straps are half adjustable and the band has two hooks and eyes.

babydoll3

babydoll4

babydoll5

The design and look of the babydoll is really pretty and elegant. It’s nice to have something fitted, as whilst I do love my other babydolls, it’s nice to have the option of something sleeker.

The stockings worn in the post are from ‘The Big Tights Company’ and my review and link to buy can be found here.

What do you think of this Debenhams babydoll? And what do you think of the range of brands they stock?

A few months ago I received a rather exciting email:

“Due to high customer demand, leading full bust lingerie brand Parfait is thrilled to announce expanded cup & band sizing for Fall. The best-selling Charlotte Padded Bra, Sophia Wire Bra and ever-popular Alexis Babydoll will be available up to K cup, while the Charlotte Padded Bra will also be available in a 28 band. Expanded styles will begin hitting retailers nationwide this August. Leading the size expansion is Parfait all-time favorite Charlotte, a style that launched with Parfait’s initial debut back in Fall 2010. The Charlotte Padded Bra will be available up to K cup in Peach/Black, Red/Black, Dusty Rose and brand new colorway Wild Pink, also introducing a 28 band size in all colorways and all cup sizes. Best-selling Alexis will expand to K cup as well in the popular Babydoll silhouette, available in Ivory and Black. Rounding out the roster is newer style Sophia, whose Wire Bra will be available up to K cup in Black, Pearl White and European Nude. “We have heard and listened to the growing feedback from our dedicated fanbase for expanding sizing, and are so pleased to be able to meet their wishes after extensive research, development and fit testing. As a brand committed to providing full bust women worldwide the best in quality, fit and style, we couldn’t be happier to announce that expanded cup sizes are here!” Keng Zhang, President, Parfait by Affinitas Stay tuned, Parfait plans on rolling out additional styles in expanded sizes in future seasons.”

Ever since Invest In Your Chest reviewed the Charlotte bra by Parfait Affinitas set I’ve been dying to get my hands and boobs on and in one. And so after reading that the bra would come in a K cup and in a hot pink… 36H Parfait Affinitas Charlotte, please be mine!

charlotte1

This set is a UK 36H/20.

charlotte2

This set has a gorgeous retro-ey feel to it, and of course that ticks my box. And even though I’m not normally one for pink, the girly side of me was so excited to finally own a hot pink padded bra.

charlotte3

The bra has nice thick straps which are fully adjustable, and the band has FOUR!!!!! hooks and eyes. The lightly padded cups give my bust a great rounded shape and the straps and wires are perfectly placed for my broad torso and wide bust.

charlotte4

charlotte5

The bow details and the patterns on the bra and knickers stop this set from being too sickly sweet, and they instead add the that retro twist. The high waisted briefs are lush – although I wish they were dark at the back like the bra, or maybe sheer. They fit my generous booty rather well, but it is visible from the front that they could do with being a little roomier/stretchier.

charlotte6

charlotte7

Sadly the bra is a smidge too small in the bust. It fits well at the side, but I do experience some slight overspill at the cleavage. The band fits perfectly, and so I think that a 36HH or a 36J would be the best fit for me. It is such a comfy bra, and I hope to get it in the right size one day soon.

A Review Of The Curvy Kate Ritzy Babydoll

A few weeks the go I had the enormous pleasure of representing Curvy Kate on the streets of London.

Literally.

(Click here to find out more.)

When I was first asked to strut my stuff on Oxford Street my one condition was that I get to wear a babydoll and hold ups! Back then I was asked with several other ladies, and first and foremost I wanted to be covered. ‘But why?’ I hear you ask, ‘You blog in your skivvies all the time!?’ – the thing is, I am in control on my blog. The positions and photos are carefully selected and I know exactly what I am putting out into the world. On the streets of London I would be papped and snapped from every which way. And whilst my wobbly bottom can look pretty awesome with a cocked leg and a clever pose in my lounge, it is not yet ready to take it from every angle. So to speak. My second reason was that a babydoll in my size is a huge huge HUGE rarity! And as I would be with other women of all shapes and sizes in other types of undercrackers, I felt that showing a babydoll on a big busty broad would be spectacular!

Click here for my review of Curvy Kate’s first babydoll, the Lola.

As it turned out, I was the only Curvy Kate girl to sashay down Oxford Street, but I still stuck to my guns with the babydoll wearing. The lovely Hannah from curvy Kate provided me with a Curvy Kate Ritzy babydoll, which was one I had not tried before. Hannah brought me the babydoll in a 36GG and a 38G to see which one would work best, and I went for the 38G. This is a band size up from my usual CK bras, and I’d say that the band is rather firm. I did make a small error with the cups, as I assumed that this product came in ‘Showgirl’ sizes and therefore a GG would be the highest size for the 36 band, and a G for the 38. As it turns out it comes in 28-38 D-J – awesome news! Fingers crossed the bands run larger one day! And so the 38G did run a smidge small, and I would say that a 38GG would be the perfect size for me. So one band up and the relative cup size.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

aaaaaaaaaaaa

I spent about an hour and a half in the babydoll as I prepped myself for the imminent street exposure, strutted my stuff and then tottered back to get dressed. I actually really enjoyed my time, despite feeling a little out of place what with being the shortest roundest one there! I didn’t feel the cold but that may have been the nerves or the fact that I was already covered up and kept having dressing gowns thrown at me! The babydoll felt comfy, sexy, sassy and supportive.

Ritzy and I were the perfect duo out in the winter elements, and I know she will sizzle just as much next time I give her a whirl. I love the pinstripe details, the length and the plunging padded cups.

What do you think of Curvy Kate’s second foray into the land of babydolls? Will you be or have you tried Lola?

Ewa Michalak: Revisited

Ewa Michalak burst onto the scene a few years ago and completely changed things for so many women. They make a huge range of bras in a massive range of sizes. The bras are sturdy, colourful and extremely well made, and they are definitely my go to when I need something padded and sturdy. I myself have reviewed a few in the past but if you want to visit the holy grail of Ewa bra reviews then CurvyWordy is your woman, and her knowledge and in depth review of the bras is like no other!

I was recently offered the chance to try a few more bras from Ewa, and the first will be the S Tęczowe Kfiaty.

1275952_605701052806124_534222004_o

I sent the Ewa Michalak team the measurements as described on their size calculator and they sent me some bras that they felt would fit me the best – 90H/40H with matching briefs in a UK18.

The style of the bra is probably described as a ‘high plunge’ style. It has worked under lower cut tops for me and it gives me a great amount of coverage.

ewa1

(Sorry for the badly photoshopped bum crack removal, the knickers are rather sheer!)

The bra cups are made out of a four part construction that really help give a rounded shape. They come with removeable pads that can help correct aysymmetry. I am wearing the bra with the pads in the photos, and I threatetend to spill over a tiny bit after a few hours of moving about and wearing it. However, once I removed the pads the cups fit me perfectly.

ewa2

The bra straps are nice and wide and they are half adjustable and the band comes with four sets of three hooks and eyes. There is lace detailing around the edge of the cups and underneath them, and it looks gorgeous and doesn’t provide any irritation at all.

ewa3

The pattern is just amazing. Yes it’s not a delicate subtle floral, but I am not a delicate subtle girl! And it is so amazing to be able to get something so different in a size that fits me and my bangers! I also loved the bow details on the bra and briefs.

ewa4

The cups fit me really well. I would love them to be a tiny bit higher at the sides, but I could easily run the risk of being poked under the arms with it. I do not like my bra bands to be the firmest ever, however, I felt like this bra could have been a little tighter. I have got on rather well with 38HH Ewa bras in the past, and I think that a 38HH would be the ideal size for me in this bra, which shows great sizing continuity.

ewa5

The matching pants were an amazing fit. I love that they are completely sheer at the back, adding a sexy twist to a brazen floral print.

This bra makes me wonder why I left Ewa alone for so long. I think there often is a bit of hesitation when it comes from ordering overseas from a fairly unknown brand, but I really do urge more women to take the plunge. If you would like a little help with bras and bra sizing then check out Bratabase – it’s literally a database of bras where you can establish the best fit for you based on other ladies measurements, get involved in forum discussions and even sell and buy bras.

What do you think of Ewa Michalak? Have you heard of the brand before? Have you bought anything or been tempted to buy? Let me know!

A Review Of The SM Wróżka By Ewa Michalak

$
0
0

Given my preference for padded and moulded bras, it’s unsurprising that I have yet to take the plunge into the unpadded world of Ewa Michalak.

Until now, that is.

Enter the SM Wróżka, size 90H/40H.

IMG_1039

This bra feels rather like French knickers (not going to lie, I wrote ‘knockers’ by mistake…) in that it is made out of a sheerish thick lacy material. As the photo on the Ewa Michalak website demonstrates, the bra is quite see through. However, at first glance you might be forgiven for thinking that the bra is padded or moulded:

IMG_1042

The shape is incredible, the uplift is beautiful and I was actually in awe at how this bra made me feel. I think that the secret is the four part cup construction, which lends itself to creating a more spherical breast shape. The wires are nice and wide which is really great for me and my broad bazooms.

IMG_1044

The full adjustable straps are joined to the cups with a slightly wider piece of fabric that tapers into the straps. This adds to the overall lovely look of the bra, and it also helps to take the weight of the bust. The band has three hooks and eyes – perfect and sturdy!

IMG_1048

As you can see, the bra is done up on the tightest hook. I actually found this band to be a little more stretchy that other Ewa bras, but I think that my usual 38HH would still suffice.

Just for reference, here are my usual sizes in other brands.
Freya – 34HH
Elomi – 36H
Curvy Kate – 36H
Panache – 36H

I have found that the Ewa bras tend to fit around two cups and one band smaller than my usual bras, but as with clothes in general there are no hard and fast rules. Your best bet is to check out their sizing guide and Bratabase.
Do remember that Ewa ship to many destinations, and their currency is Polish Zloty, short term PLN. This should help you convert their prices on Google.

Large Cup Lingerie: Parfait By Affinitas

A few months back I had the pleasure of another shoot at My Boudoir. I felt brave enough to do the shoot in lingerie this time around, and Cha from Large Cup Lingerie was an absolute angel at providing me with some Parfait by Affinitas pieces that would help me look and feel amazing.

The first piece was one that I had previously tried in pink – the Charotte.

char

As seen in the above linked post, my previous set was a size 36H/20 and a tiny bit small in the cup. And so this time I went for 36HH/20, and it was bang on!

char3
char2

I adored the eye popping red of the set and I think it really lends itself to boudoir photography with a retro twist, as well as being very comfy and gorgeous to wear on a day to day basis.

The other two pieces were identical save the colour – the Alexis babydoll in white and black, both 36HH/20.

bbydoll4

bbydoll

I really really love this babydoll! It was spot on size wise in both colours, and a really great length on me. Fully adjustable thick straps and four hooks and eyes gave the sexy flirty item a nice sturdy element. The padded cups with the detailing and decorated central gore help give it that elegant look, and the floaty sheer babydoll section hung down in a way that disguised any insecurities without adding bulk.

bbydoll3

bbydoll3

With the cups I really liked how the appeared to be partially sheer, but they are in fact lightly padded with extra support at the sides the help give that amazing shape and cleavage.
The knickers were also very comfy and lightweight. They did not dig in at all and contained my ample bottom whilst also sitting almost on my waist. Perfect for seducing in the bedroom or for sticking on under a pair of jeans.

Large Cup Lingerie are so passionate about great customer service, and this is really apparent on their Facebook page where they share blogger reviews, new in and sale items, ask leading questions and post body positive memes and images. I think that they are a fabulous company with a really personal touch, and if you see something on their site or something I have reviewed that is no longer available in your size or you’re not quite sure about then drop Cha an email and I am sure that she will do her very best to assist you.
Click here to view the full Parfait by Affinitas range that she has in stock.

Here are the final images from my My Boudoir shoot. I adore the edginess of the Charlotte set photo (worn with hold ups from The Big Tights Company) and I love how my crazy idea of a ‘Good Vs Evil’ was executed in the babydoll photo.

Bridal Lingerie Inspiration From Mio Destino

$

It’s getting to be that season again – you know the one. It’s time to shake the dust off the wedding hats and bust out the strappy sandals… unless of course, you’re the one getting hitched. If that is you then you’ll probably be sampling wedding cakes, re jiggling seating plans – and no doubt bridal lingerie will be somewhere on that to-do list.

If you are a busty girl going for a traditional dress and some white or ivory lingerie, then look no further than Mio Destino. They have a huge range of traditional bridal lingerie as well as many other sets. And with this in mind (despite the fact I am not getting married yet, market research ya know…) I perused what Mio Destino had to offer in the way of big bust bridal sets, and I came across the Curvy Kate Lola ivory and gold set, size 36H/20.

DestLola.jpg

Despite having reviewed the Lola babydoll in black in the past and finding the 36H fit a bit off, I stuck with that size for the bra as I thought that the fit may be a little different. As it goes, 36H seemed pretty spot on, although I would be interested to try a 36HH just to determine whether I need to size up, or whether my top heavy boobs are what’s giving me the slightest smidge of overspill when I raise my arms.

DestLola2.jpg

From the side the lightly padded cups give my boobs a slightly pointed shape. However, once clothes have been added that shape quickly becomes more rounded. There is a slight hint of cleavage from the front which will be perfect for a bride who doesn’t want to distract her new spouse!

DestLola3.jpg

As I touched on before, I feel that this set is suited better for women with bottom heavy breasts, and due to the positioning of the straps I feel that women with narrow shoulders and/or less wide breast roots will get on better with it. For more information on breast shapes check out Bras I Hate&Love‘s blog with just one of many fantastic insightful posts on the subject.

DestLola4.jpg

The peachy gold detailing on the Lola set is offset beautifully by the ivory satin. And I know that bows aren’t for everyone, but I love how they finish off the look.

DestLola5.jpg

The straps are fully adjustable and there are three hooks and eyes on the bra band. I would desbribe the band as firm with stretch – and I could probably squeeze to a 34 in this style and still find the fit comfortable. The knickers were bang on in a 20, and you’ve got to love a sheer bottom ;)

If you are in need of a traditional bridal set then the Curvy Kate Lola from Mio Destino is pretty much perfect. Just make sure you nab one in time to try on under your wedding dress so that you can determine whether or not the shape and style works for you. And if you’re in need of something honeymoon worthy, why not check out the Lola babydoll.

A Review Of The Curvy Kate Ritzy

$

A few months ago I had the pleasure of receiving and reviewing the Curvy Kate Ritzy babydoll. I adore the shape that the cups gave me, and given that I was a test model for the bra version of it, I couldn’t wait to give that a try as well…

Ritzy1

Behold, the Curvy Kate Ritzy in a size 36H/20.

Ritzy2

As stated in my babydoll review, the size I really should be in Ritzy is my standard size of 36H, and I was 95% bang on with that size in the bra.

Ritzy3

Because I have large top heavy boobs, it’s sometimes tricky to know whether plunge bras are a perfect fit verging on too small, or whether my breast shape and size is causing the ever so slight spillage that I sometimes get. However, it’s not something that proved noticeable under clothes, it’s more something I spotted when I looked back through the photos I had taken for this post.

Ritzy4

The cups are slightly more padded than I am used to, and I adore it! I am a huge fan of padded and moulded bras as they help shape my boobs and hide my nipples! This particular bra held my bust very solidly, for want of a better description, and I felt really secure in it. My Freya Deco is often my go to for plunging cleavage, but I do find that I move around quite easily in it. Not Ritzy! She held me in place and made my gravity loving boobs feel like they’d been under the knife!

Ritzy5

The simple pinstripe pattern is a classic, and makes the bra rather versatile. I can see it being great for a shoot or a fancy dress costume, and well as perfect under a LBD or even a work outfit. Due the the frill at the top of the cups it obviously will be no good under anything too tight.
Ritzy6

Three hooks and eyes, fully adjustable straps and great rounded cups – that’s my kind of bra!

The knickers were a perfect fit in a size 20, and really soft and comfy.

How do you like the Curvy Kate Ritzy? Have you tried one? Do you want to try one?

A Review Of The Elomi Imogen

$

I’ve said it before and I will say it again – Elomi have seriously upped their game lately. And so when I was sent some items for my shoot with My Boudoir I knew that they would be perfect.

The first set that I wore was the Elomi Imogen full cup bra in a 36GG with the 2XL waist cincher and briefs.

502

Sadly, 36GG was not a perfect fit for me, but for the purposes of the shoot it worked really well. The set has a great retro vintagey feel to it due to the unusual bronze colourway and the style of the bra.

Elomi1

I am happy to bear my tum on my blog, but during shoots it’s a different matter. And so I adored the cincher that came with this as it covered me up without being overly frumpy.

Elomi2

As I said, the bra, which is non padded, was not the best fit in the cup – a 36H would probably have been best for me as I spilled out the top and sides a bit. It did give me a great rounded shape, but not too much cleavage. The straps are fully adjustable and there are three hooks and eyes.

IMG_1760

IMG_1761

The 2XL cincher and knickers were a perfect fit for me. I fastened the cincher the front and spun it round to get it on, and I was thankful it was not tighter! The knickers are so so comfy. Nice and high – and I love that cheeky sheer back!

IMG_1762

IMG_1763

IMG_1765

I am 5’7 with a long torso, and the cincher was a great length on me. It didn’t gape or bulge and it helped smooth me out.

A Review Of The Ewa Michalak S Szafirek

I recently found ‘The One’. When they first entered my life I didn’t think they were much of a looker, and I shallowly judged them on that. Don’t get me wrong, they are definitely appealing, but I never expected to fall for them quite so hard. We then started to spend all of our time together because they make me feel amazing, so comfortable and happy with myself. And whilst on holiday recently I woke up everyday and chose them as the one that I would spend my day with. I go on and on about them to my friends and I fear the day that they are no longer able to offer me the support I need. Here is a photo of my love and I…

emnavy1

The S Szafirek from Ewa Michalak, size 38HH/20.

emnavy2

I just canNOT get enough of this set. It is so comfortable, it gives me a great shape and it goes perfectly under 99% of my outfits.

emnavy3

The straps are fully adjustable and there are three hooks and eyes on the band. As shown in my very first photo it comes with removable pads which can help correct asymmetry or just give you a bit of a boost. The four part cups are lightly padded and magical.

emnavy4

The colour seems to go under everything! It’s a gorgeous deep blue with a subtle floral detail and a bejeweled central gore, and now that I’m acquiring a little bit of a tan it’s even more perfect with my skin tone.

emnavy5

The thong is oh so comfy, with a perfect amount of stretch and softness to accommodate my fleshy hips. The nice wide band at the side stops it from cutting into my love handles or feeling too skimpy.

Sadly, there seem to be very few ready made Szafireks left on the Ewa Michalak site right now, but you can contact Ewa for a custom made bra. She will need you to take a few measurements to find your perfect fit, as Ewa bras come up differently size wise compared to a lot of brands – for reference I am generally a 36H, but in Ewa I need a 38HH.

Remember to use Google to covert the prices into your own currency. Ewa Michalak is a Polish site and the currency shorthand is ‘PLN’ – Polish Zlotys.

What do you think of this bra? Which bra is your favourite?

A Review Of The CS-426 From Orchard Corset

$
0
0

As may of you will know, I am a huge HUGE corset fan. I don’t wear them every day, but they do help add a certain something to a photo shoot or a fancy dress outfit.
My absolute favourite corset is the What Katie Did Morticia as it’s cut for women with hips that are over ten inches bigger than their waist. However, having seen Curvywordy rave about the CS-426 it in her review I thought I should give Orchard Corsets a go, and follow her lead with the style.

“This original design by Orchard Corset has extreme curves to flatter and shape is now available in 100% premium cotton. Crafted from the finest fabrics, the CS-426 is made with a contoured underbust line that is curved to fit directly under the bust and is longer in the torso than our standard underbust corset. The cotton fabric makes this the ideal year-round waist training corset and is easy to under and over your clothing. The 426 features a steel front split busk, flat and spiral steel boning and 100% cotton lining to provide extra durability and support.”

The corset arrived very swiftly after I chose my size and fabric preference – but please note that it was a gift and so I am unsure of shipping and import prices. I went for a 28 as my waist is around 33 inches and I now know how to squish into corsets – even with my false nails! Corset size is determined by subtracting 4-5 inches from your waist measurement until you get an even number. So the corset size is the size in inches that that item can get your waist down to when laced fully shut. I knew that the corset would probably take a little wiggling into and I was not wrong. As my hips are so large I made sure that it was undone the most at the bottom, plus a good trick with tight corsets is to get them on at one end and then move the slack of the lace up to the next part that you are struggling with. However, I found that once I had the bottom hook done up the rest was easy to work with. It was then up to Mr FFFB to lace me in – and I think he enjoyed that rather too much! Our neighbours probably wondered what was going on! I feel like it could have gone tighter, but as it’s new it was perfect as it was. It didn’t feel too restricted as he fastened it – yes I was able to breathe and function as normal! I then spent several hours in the corset doing a bit of cleaning and sorting – oh so glam!

orchard1

as you can see, the corset was a brilliant fit. I am 5’7 with a fairly long torso, and so it is hard to find corset that do the job with out too much oozing and bulging. This was spot on all over.

orchard2

The hips were gored and so I was accommodated beautifully. It is slightly less extreme that my Morticia, which seems to show off my waist in a more dramatic fashion. This is more of a gentle curve.

orchard3

I am very accustomed to the feeling of a tight laced corset, as on shoots I wear them for several hours at a time and that involves a lot of bending down to put shoes on and so on, and I would say this is very comfortable. However, if you are a corset virgin or at least a beginner you may want to lace loosely initially and wear them for a few hours at a time.

orchard4

I did find that I bulged out of the corset at the back – which is something I would expect given that it is tightly laced and I am pretty meaty. What I did love was that despite having a belly full of sushi and Haribo (other brands are available but they aren’t as good) I didn’t have much of a ‘pooch’ at all. It did also shift my boobies up several centimeteres, and sitting down in the ensemble gave me a cleavage shaped chin rest.

This is a really great corset. The fit and shape is great, it looks wonderful and it’s pretty comfy. I think it would be perfect for everyone, especially beginners who need something a little gentler. But your here.

The bra I have on can be seen here.

A Review Of The Maria Strapless Bra By Elomi

$
0
0

Regular readers of my blog will know that when it comes to going strapless I am incredibly fussy. There are strapless bras that fit me and give me a certain level of support, but I was everything and a bit more from a strapless bra. I want an incredible shape, perfect uplift and great support, and I know I cannot expect that at a natural 36H, and in that case I am happy to forgo strapless options.

I recently received a strapless bra from Elomi that sadly fell slightly short of my personal and crazy expectations. However, it did work ok for me, and as my blog is about showing my favourite pieces as well as pieces that work for me and my size and shape, I wanted to share it with you.

Elomimariastrapless

This is the Maria strapless bra from Elomi, size 36H/2XL. It comes with straps so that you can wear it as a halterneck or racer back or one strap bra – whatever you fancy! I was really impressed by it when I first tried it on as I did not have high hopes for it. The cups are thick and unpadded and it has four hooks and eyes. They were rather difficult to do up, but at least I had a firm band to offer me perfect. I am generally a 34HH in Eveden (Freya/Fantasie/Elomi) and so this is true to strapless sizes at a 36H.

IMG_1794

It does give me uplift, that shape is pretty awesome and it feels perfect around my back. The cups do fit, but due to the fact that they slightly shift on me during wearing them I have a slight ‘busting out’ look. I think it would be the same at every size unless the bra were to stick to me in some way. I do think that with a dress with the right structure this would be perfect. It comes in Ivory and is listed as a bridal piece – so there’s an idea for me…

IMG_1795

The bra and perfectly fitted matching knickers both have some lovely lace detail on them – again ticking that bridal box. The sheer bottom on the knickers is a great cheeky touch as well – quite literally ;)

IMG_1797

The beautiful CurvyWordy (who is around a 32L if my memory serves me correctly) also tried this bra on and was shocked at how well it supported her. I think that will continue to be a surprise hit for women who think that strapless bras in larger cup sizes are completely impossible.

I recently wore it at my shoot with My Boudoir, my hair and make up was done by the ever wonderful (and hopefully my bridal hair and make up artist) Sarah Elliott. The corset is, of COURSE my What Katie Did Morticia.

A Review Of PL Słowianki by Ewa Michalak

I cannot get enough of Ewa Michalak right now! Here is another of my current loves – the PL Słowianki.

eng_pm_PL-Slowianki-506_1

I got the set in my seemingly standard Ewa size of 38HH/20.

ewaorange

The fit of the set was as perfect as ever. The four part cups construction gave me that rounded uplift and orb like shape.

Ewaorange2

The upper section of the cups are lacy and a stunning orange, just like the rest of the cups. The gorgeous white flower detailing really pops and suits my skintone.

Ewaorange3

I know some people hate bows, but I love the large bow on the centre of the cups. The only issue is that it slightly twists during wear.

Ewaorange4

The straps are fully adjustable and the band has three hooks and eyes. The cups come with removable pads to help correct asymmetry or add that extra ‘boost’ if you fancy it – and yes, us large busted women sometimes do!

Ewaorange5

The size 20 thong was a great fit in terms of comfort, but as my first photos show it is slightly lower at the front. However, the gorgeous fabric that they are made out of ensures they never ever cut in or feel uncomfortable – Ewa knickers are hands down my favourite ever.

You can buy this bra here. As stated by Ewa, it is possible to order non-refundable custom sizes. The currency used by Ewa Michalak is Polish Zlotys aka PLN – Google can help with a price conversion.

A Review Of The Rosa Set By Tutti Rouge

I’ve said it before and I will say it again – Tutti Rouge are a breath of fresh air in the lingerie world. Their bras are all oh so delicious, they make the same bras in the same style for every size of woman – some brands don’t make padded items beyond a G or change the sheerness of the cups. And they have so many wonderful designs, I can barely keep up!

They currently have lots of wonderful bras out in their ‘French Bliss’ collection – a few old favourites in different colours and patterns, a few new bras in the same shapes as old ones and a few completely new bras!

I was recently sent the Tutti Rouge Rosa in a size 36HH/2XL.

TR1JPG

I found the set to be pretty much identical to the Tutti Rouge ‘Birds OF A Feather’ set, bar the new exquisite pattern.

tr2

Just like the ‘Birds of a Feather’ set, the cups are made up of a three part construction – a lightly padded lower half and a lacy upper half.

tr3

The straps are half adjustable, and the band has three hooks and eyes.

tr4

My boobs are a little too wide for the cups, as I mentioned in my previous review. I get the ‘orange in the glass’ look that doesn’t show through clothes.

tr5

My boobs get a gorgeous uplifted rounded shape in this set, with some great subtle cleavage. It wouldn’t work underneath a super tight dress as the lace would show.

tr6

I love that they now do 2XL in the bottoms, but that is still too small for my chunky hips! I think I might need a 4XL as there is not much stretch to them. The thong is gorgeous and cheeky, and I also love the matching shorts.

A Review Of The Ewa Michalak S Wodzianka

As regular readers will know, I do love my Freya Deco bras! The moulded cups, the low gore… and yet it stops at a 36GG, and I need a 36H, oh the misery! However, I may have found a Polish substitute – the S Wodzianka by Ewa Michalak, size 38HH/20.

EMW1

The gore is a little higher than that of the Deco, but the enviable shape it gives me is reminiscent of the Deco.

EMW2

The cups are extremely solid, more so than the Deco. However, my bust shape is completely suited to it, and it’s a really flawless fit on me. I have been wearing it for several months now, and it’s a fantastic bra.

IMG_1912

The straps are slightly padded, and half adjustable. I only needed to adjust them a tiny bit when wearing the bra, and so hopefully smaller shouldered will still be ok with this style.

IMG_1914

The band has three hooks and eyes – a huge tick for me!

IMG_1916

The unusual and beautiful pattern on the cups is printed on, but it gives the illusion of being textured. The cups come with removable pads to help correct asymmetry or give that little boost. I wear it without them, and they were very easy to remove and are undetectable.

IMG_1917

The bra and the extremely comfortable knickers are both spot on fit wise. Every single set I’ve tried recently has been pretty much perfect, and I’m really starting to falling head over heels with Ewa!

The hold ups worn in my review can be seen in this post.

If you would like to try the S Wodzianka by Ewa Michalak and your size is not available, then email Ewa to ask for one to be made. The sizing chart here and Bratabase should be able to help you figure out your size. Personally, I wear a band and two cups up from my Panache and Curvy Kate bras, but there is no formula. If you want to work out the currency, use the code ‘PLN’ (Polish Zlotys) to help you figure it out.

I recommend Ewa to almost everyone, as the range of bras and the presence of padding is larger sizes just makes them so perfect. Have you tried them, or do you want to try an Ewa?

A Review Of The BM Bibi Czarny Tulipan

I’m obsessed with Ewa Michalak right now, and I rarely wear anything else! I have even worn (shock, horror!) a NON PADDED Ewa bra!

eng_pl_BM-Bibi-czarny-Tulipan-521_1

This is the BM Bibi Czarny Tulipan.

I am pretty lucky to be the same size in all the Ewa products I’ve tried recently – 38HH/20. The bra fit calculator helped point me towards the 38HH direction, and trying a few products has confirmed that for me!

ewahighwaist

The bras are made with a three part cup construction, which can often lead to pointy boobies in non padded bras. However, this bra is a little bit magical as it really thrusts and my boobs forward and makes them incredibly rounded.

IMG_1889

The lower part of the cups is a little thicker than the more sheer lace top, and that helps to shape the bust and conceal le nips. The gorgeous detail on the central gore and on the knickers gives it a slight retro twist – especially with the high waisted knickers.

IMG_1891

The band has three hooks and eyes and the straps are fully adjustable. The straps attach to the bra with a slightly wider bit of fabric that tapers into the straps. It seems to help with shaping the bust and the cups.

IMG_1892

The high waisted knickers are AMAZING! More like these please Ewa! They are so comfy, flattering and they fit nicely over my huge bottom!

Remember – Ewa can make bra specially for you, so if you fancy trying the BM Bibi Czarny Tulipan and your size isn’t available then do contact Ewa. Remember to follow her advice as to which size to try as it can differ a little from what you’re used to.

A Review Of The Ewa Michalak SM Cukiereczek

Sheer cup pretty bras in a 38HH… that sounds like a crazy dream, huh?

ewasheer

Hello Ewa Michalak SM Cukiereczek.

This set in a 38HH/20 is the stuff big boobied dreams are made of – and something Ewa does so well.

IMG_2760

It is STUNNING! The sheer cups with the gorgeous rose embroidery look too delicate to sustain the weight of a pair of boobies, but that magic four part cup construction strikes again! It makes my boobs look so rounded, something I usually rely on padded and moulded bras for. The straps are fully adjustable and the band has three hooks and eyes.

IMG_2759

The cups are really deep and quite wide at the top, narrowing towards the bottom. Due to my top heavy, very wide boobs, I don’t quite fill the cups out all the way to the bottom, especially on my smaller side. But it’s not visible through clothes or uncomfortable.

IMG_2758

As the stars might indicate, the bra is quite sheer! And I love it. It’s sexy and pretty in equal measures. The knickers are a perfect match – not too sheer, but sexy enough to match the set. I really love the soft back of the knickers with the double layer of fabric. They are stretchy on the booty, which is a godsend for my behind!

I am quite tanned and so this bra doesn’t quite match my skintone, but I can imagine it would be perfect on paler ladies who want a flesh coloured bra. I can’t help but think bridal thoughts…

Like always, Ewa will custom make you a bra if you cannot find your size in the SM Cukiereczek online.

Kix’ies Thigh Highs

I can’t remember when I first became aware of Kix’ies thigh highs, but I do recall that I suddenly saw that signature pinstripe hold up top everywhere – and I wanted to know more!
Kixies-6

And so when the Kix’ies gang approached me and offered me the chance to try a pair I was over the moon!
Being that I am 5’7 and around a size 18, I went for the size D (as indicated by the size chart) and I eagerly awaited their arrival.

As soon as the postman delivered them I knew exactly what was inside the package, and I swiftly tore the package open and put them on! Annoyingly, despite my gentle handling of them, I was a little too rough and managed to put a small hole in one of them – these false nails are a gift and a curse! I found that they didn’t come up as high as I am used to, and I think I was determined to make them sit further up my legs. However, I soon realised that my reason for wanting high hold ups was that they would often dig in or fold, and the Kix’ies were not about to do any of that. The silicone top held firm and didn’t show any signs of going rogue.

10624873_796806013696741_5203306566454338022_n

I was worried that the subtle spot pattern would make my already sizeable legs seem enormous, but it was actually very subtle and looked great. The signature band was also something that I worried might look odd on me, but I loved the way it made my legs look.

IMG_3333

I spent several hours in the hold ups as I pottered around my flat and did a bit of cleaning and sorting. They did not budge or chafe me at all! Amazing! I would say that they would definitely fit thighs that are larger than mine, but if you are larger and taller they may end up being over the knee stockings.

kix

So all in all I adored my first experience of Kix’ies. I really hope to nab a few more pairs in a few different designs, and I can’t wait to watch their world domination continue!

At present, I do not know of any UK retailers bar maybe a few on eBay, but you can order Kix’ies direct from their website.

Stocking Seams

When you’re a woman of a certain height and size, you sometimes get used to certain finishing touches passing you by. One of those has to be plus size hosiery – and not just any plus size hosiery, plus size retro style stockings!

Luckily, my absolute favourite plus size tights company had just the thing in the shape of their brand new beige seamed stockings.

Seamed1

I tried these in a size 30/32, and despite wearing a tightly laced corset I had no trouble getting these on and up to a good height on my legs. I am 5’7 and a size 18 so I am at the smaller end of the spectrum, but these had a lot of give in them without being baggy.

Seamed2

The stockings have a Cuban heel, and the seam at the back is subtle yet perfect.

Seamed3

I am ever so slightly tanned, and these are a tad pale on me, but it’s not noticeable.

Seamed4

I’m not the most elegant of ladies, and my false nails have been known to wreak havoc on a number of items. However, these passed the test for resilience and they came away hole free!

Seamed5

As stocking are liable to do, these sagged a little at my inner thighs where there were no suspender clips. However, it was nothing drastic or uncomfortable!

All in all I love these stockings. It’s fab to see The Big Tights Company providing items for women who want that timeless glamour in larger sizes.

The knickers are from an old Elomi set.
The dress is from Scarlett&Jo and as soon as it becomes available I will let you know, I promise!

Ruby&Spice

*Please note – the photos were taken and the review was written several weeks ago*

When Curvy Kate brought out their black&almond babydoll last year I fell in love. And so when the ruby&spice version came out this year I knew that I just had to have it! Red is a colour that Robbie, me and my wardrobe cannot get enough of, and this fiery little pinstriped number was the perfect vivid shade.

redritzy1

As stated in my review of the black&almond babydoll, I tried this previously in a 36GG. And so this time I went true to size with a 36H/20, and it was a far better fit!

redritzy2

The straps are fully adjustable and the extremely firm band has three hooks and eyes. The peephole just below the band means that there is enough room to wiggle in and out of the babydoll with out getting a boob stuck. The length is perfect on my 5’7 frame.

redritzy3

The shape of the cups is so perfect. It gives my top heavy boobs a glorious orb shape without them spilling over. I’d say that a 36H is perfect for me in this, but as I stated before the band is super super firm, and so you may want to size up (and therefore down a cup) if you are between sizes.
The size 20 knickers are spot on. They have enough butt coverage, they don’t dig in and they are so so comfy. They also have a small peephole detail at the back, and like the central gore of the bra they have a gem and bow on them at the front centre.
